EKG TECHNICIAN

EKG Program


Students will learn about the duties, responsibilities and work environment of an EKG technician as well as interpretations. Students will learn about the anatomy and physiology of the human heart, the anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system. Students will also learn about common medical conditions concerning the heart and the cardiovascular system as a whole.


Students will master the following skill sets: preparing the patient for EKG, applying and removing leads, performing live EKGs, entering patient data, and documenting completion. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to sit for the MedCA national certification exam.
