Insurance Examiner Technician Program
Students will learn about the duties and responsibilities,
process of examination and confidentiality regulations as they relate to the
job of an insurance examiner; common health status alterations as they relate
to the body systems; taking and recording vital signs; duties and
responsibilities of phlebotomy and electrocardiography; and the nervous system.
Students will master the following skill sets: completing a medical history;
taking and recording weight, height and vital signs; collecting urine
specimens; performing venipuncture and capillary puncture; performing an EKG;
observing infection control procedures; and safely disposing of sharps and
hazardous waste. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to
sit for the MedCA certification exam.
